This area of the coast was lined with houses in the 15th century by the local nobles comprising seven villages, which were later given the collective name of KASTELA. The picturesque village of Kastel Novi is the second village with the attractive octagonal tower of the church of St. Rock, a fortified tower, attractive promenade and park at its centre. A local bus links the KASTELA to Split and Trogir with Split Airport less than a ten minute drive away.
