Honfleur is a harbour commune in Normandy, in the ‘département’ of Calvados, located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine, very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie.
The town hosts one of the most picturesque old fishing ports in France and is beloved by tourists from all over the world. Yet despite its fame and popularity, Honfleur retains its timeless character. In the harbour, you can still buy your fish direct from the fishermen who catch them.
There are many interesting things to see in Honfleur. Cider apples in Europe represent an annual production of over 7.5 millions, out of which 2 millions are produced in France. Half of this national production is produced in Normandy.
Normandy offers a highly diversified industry including agri-food, automotive industry, electronics, mechanical engineering and tourism development. Foreign investment contributes heavily to West Normandy’s economy, especially in the industrial sector, where 150 foreign groups have a subsidiary,
